g8 pop-up space call for site-responsive artworks

Peter Cramer, g8 pop-up space, May 2012, George Street Sydney

galleryeight is calling for site-responsive works that relate, in some way, to the unique locality of The Rocks precinct. Selected works will be included our g8 curated pop-up series of exhibitions in this fabulous empty space on George Street in June 2012.

To be part of this unique opportunity please email the galleryeight directors (Peter Cramer and Kath Fries) a brief artwork proposal that in some way explores or considers an aspect of the The Rocks precinct. info@galleryeight.com.au

Responses may range across the various layers of history, architecture, development, tourism, stories, flora and fauna, geographical setting, moods and uses of the area. Please include with your artwork proposal; your CV, artist statement, 3 jpeg images of your previous work and website or url. Sculptural, installation, or other free-standing works are preferred due to the limitations of the pop-up spaces.

galleryeight is an artist-run-initiative presenting a successful program of exhibitions in its permanent gallery space, on Argyle Street in Millers Point, The Rocks, for the past three years. www.galleryeight.com.au
