early morning observations
riverbank discovery
temporal soft damp sandy surface
tracks by the river
from thirsty nighttime visitors
soon to be erased by tidal currents
kangaroo
nose to the ground
front paws imprinted first - like tiny hands
rear legs thump forward
landing heavily
forming deeper impressions either side
tail gently drags behind

I'm currently one of several artists-in-residence at Bundanon Trust. This artist-in-residence diary traces my process as I get to know the site and begin making work in response to my experience of being here.
